Cradle Picnic This Saturday!!
Well, no news on the baby front, we are still waiting for 'the call'. We have an appointment with our old RE to discuss the surrogacy option so we will see how that goes. This weekend will be busy though, on Saturday our adoption agency is having a picnic. It will be nice to see some of the adoptive families and talk with others who are currently on the "waiting families" list like us. After the picnic we have to drive up to Michigan to attend a party that my moms friends throw every year for the 'Ship and Shore' festival. There will be a lighted boat parade and fireworks. It is usually a great time so we are looking forward to it! Well, that's it! Till next time! See ya!

Match Failed....But New Infertility Path Presented!
Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Well, the possible match didn't work out. She has decided to parent. We did, by a twist of fate, get presented another alternative to our infertility efforts. We have received an offer from a girl who heard our story and has offered (out of the graciousness of her heart) to be a surrogate for us. It takes a special person to offer to carry a child for someone they don't even know and we appreciate her offer more than she will ever know! We are thinking about taking her up on her offfer but first we need to talk to our reproductive endocrinologist to see if it is even possible. I will update you on this newly developed situation when we have more information. BTW, we are still on the waiting families list for the adoption and are hopeful that a situation will be presented to us soon! Well, that's it! Till next time! See ya!!

Possible MATCH!!!!
So at lunch I got a call from my mom saying that she may have found a potential match for us! A little backstory....My mom has her reunion coming up next weekend and has been trying to contact all of her old friends from high school asking if they were planning on attending. She sent our profile to all of them and can you believe it, one of them knows of a potential situation!! One of her friends that she contacted has recently found out that his daughters friend is pregnant (she just found out herself) and looking into giving up the baby for adoption. I know it is a long shot but I am still hoping!!! Till next time! See ya!!

In Response to Wrigley...
A reader of my blog left a comment on here asking "Is there anything you could suggest we get started on?...something you wish you knew prior to doing all of this?". Here is my response....
Hi Wrigley, the one thing I would try to start working on is the $50,000 of Term life insurance per adoptive parent that is required by The Cradle. If you have the insurance through your job, you are lucky. We had to apply for it when we started the adoption process and are still waiting for approval (this is due to medical records not being sent in to the insurance company on time.) So that would be the major thing. Also, I would try to start working on your autobiography as that can take some people a while. We did ours in about a month, but I have heard people taking as much as 6 months.
The one thing I wish I knew prior to starting all of this is that you need to be patient. I mean this in two ways. When we first received our packet of the required documents that needed to be filled out to complete the homestudy (about 25 different forms) I was totally overwhelmed. I didn't know how I was going to get all of the paperwork done. We had already been going through infertility treatments for 2 + years and now it was like we were starting all over again. But eventually all the paperwork did get finished and the T's crossed and now were are "paper pregnant". The second way you have to be patient is after your homestudy is complete and you are on the "waiting families" list. It is still hard for us because we are still waiting for our baby to come to us. What makes the waiting a little easier is knowing that our baby is out there somewhere. Eventually I will be a mom and that is a great feeling to have.
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!
Till next time!! See ya!!

Our licensing cards are here!!
Yesterday we received our foster care license cards in the mail. They are good for four years so we won't have to have them renewed until 2012 (if we haven't completed our family by then).
In other news, we have been waiting 1 month as of today! So far we have not had any requests for our long profile but I am still hopeful we will have our darling child soon. Keep us in your prayers! Till next time! See ya!
